Like other clubs
operating under the direction of Life Saving Victoria, Gunnamatta is
patrolled by volunteer lifesavers on weekends and public holidays from
Saturday November 29, 2008 to Easter Monday April 13, 2009.

Gunnamatta maintains contact with Life Saving
Victoria headquarters in St Kilda via the UHF radio network. This avails
Gunnamatta to access other emergency services including neighbouring Surf
Life Saving Clubs, police, ambulance and Southern Peninsula Rescue.
