One of the rarest Trigger Bros surfboard decals comes from the '70s and is known internally as the "TV Screen" logo. Created before the use of computers, it's a mish-mash of typefaces overlaying a silhouette of legendary Aussie surfer Mark Warren and a map of the Mornington Peninsula's main surfing locations.
The design also includes the address: Lot 5 Flinders Rd, Balnarring. This was Paul's first sea change when he moved out of Bonbeach in 1973, before the Point Leo store was built in 1978.
We always wanted to bring the design back as a screen print, but it only existed on vintage surfboards, making it difficult—if not impossible—to recreate. By chance, an original, unused tissue decal was found with a few silverfish holes, allowing us to bring it back.
Another classic from the archives.
