Better quality boots have better quality foam liners. If you are going for the high end models from a brand like Burton you might only be saving 2 days worth of packing out. They just don't pack out like boots did 20 years ago so heat molding them may not be neccesary.

Why Should You Get Heat-Moldable Liners?
When you buy a brand-new pair of snowboard boots, the internal foam is dense and firm. Standard riding eventually breaks this foam down so it conforms to your unique foot shape—but that traditional break-in process takes anywhere from 10 to 15 days of riding.
For many Australian snowboarders heading to the mountains on weekend trips, 15 days of riding can equal an entire season. Spending your whole season enduring cramped feet and localized pressure points just to break in a boot isn't ideal.
Heat molding accelerates that break-in process instantly. By using thermal heat to soften the liner's foam before you hit the snow, we compress the foam around the exact contours of your feet.

How We Heat-Mold Your Boots at Trigger Bros
The molding process is simple, quick, and completely transforms how your new boots feel. Here is how we do it in-store:
1. Heating the Liners
We remove the inner liners from your boot shells and place them on our specialized boot-heating device for a minimum of 15 minutes. The device is pretty similar to a hair dryer but it's shape gets the air right to the toes. This warms and softens the memory foam without damaging the structural integrity of the boot.

2. Preparing Your Feet
While the liners warm up, we prep your feet:
- Wear the Right Socks: You should always wear the exact socks you plan to ride in. We recommend thin snowboard socks to maintain proper blood circulation—thick, heavy socks actually restrict airflow and make your feet colder!
- Toe Room Prep: If you prefer extra space in your toe box, we slip small neoprene toe caps over your toes under your socks. When you step into the hot foam, these caps create an expanded cavity so your toes never feel pinched.
- Custom Footbeds: If you are using custom arch support or aftermarket footbeds, we insert them into the liner now.
3. Fitting & Cooling
Once the liners are warm and pliable, you slide your feet into the boots and we lace them up tight. As you stand naturally, your foot structure presses into the soft foam, molding it to your exact shape.
Once the liners cool down and the foam hardens around your feet, the process is complete!
Heat Molding Myths & Rules to Keep in Mind
To get the most out of your setup, keep these two golden rules in mind:
- It's Only for New Boots: Heat molding works by accelerating the initial pack-out of fresh foam. It cannot restore or re-mold old, worn-out second-hand boots that have already been packed out by someone else's feet over several seasons.
- Zero Wait Time Required: As soon as the liners have cooled down in-store, they are ready to hit the slopes immediately. You can get them molded in the morning and be riding that afternoon.
